6 qui prend ! — Game rules
About the game
6 nimmt! is Wolfgang Kramer’s classic card game for 2 to 10 players. Everyone tries to collect as few bullheads as possible.
Setup
Shuffle the 104 cards numbered 1 to 104. Deal 10 to each player. Turn four cards face up to start the four rows; set the remaining deck aside until the next round.
Quick rules
Everyone chooses a face-down card, reveals together, then resolves the cards from lowest to highest. Each card goes after the closest lower row end. The sixth card takes the previous five cards.
Detailed rules
Shuffle the 104 cards numbered 1 to 104. Deal 10 to each player. Turn four cards face up to start the four rows; set the remaining deck aside until the next round.
Each player chooses one hidden card from their hand. After the simultaneous reveal, process cards in ascending order. If a card is too low for all four rows, its owner personally chooses a row to take. Each player plays one card per turn; a round has ten turns.
Taken cards are worth: 55 = 7 bullheads; other multiples of 11 = 5; multiples of 10 = 3; other multiples of 5 = 2; all remaining cards = 1. Add penalties after each round. The lowest cumulative total is best.
After the tenth turn, record penalties and check totals. Continue with new rounds while nobody exceeds 66 bullheads. When anyone exceeds 66 after a complete round, the player or tied players with the lowest total win.
Only the classic edition is automated. The supplied booklet also describes a professional variant with a reduced deck of ten cards per player plus four and open drafting; it is not enabled here. Other editions are separate games.
Scoring and end of game
Taken cards are worth: 55 = 7 bullheads; other multiples of 11 = 5; multiples of 10 = 3; other multiples of 5 = 2; all remaining cards = 1. Add penalties after each round. The lowest cumulative total is best.
End of game
